How We Got Here

Our company’s history is the cornerstone of who we are today.

1984
1st Generation
Thomas J. Towle founded Twin Town Box Watertown

The Watertown location was an expansion of Twin Town Box in St. Paul, MN.

1987
Renamed
Twin Town Box Watertown renamed Watertown Box

Thomas Towle purchased the business from Twin Town Box.

1994
2nd Generation
Patrick Towle named President

Thomas Towle passed away winter of 1994. Patrick Towle took over operations.

1997
Expansion
10,000 sq.ft. added on west end of building.

The expansion allowed for a new press and an expanded warehouse space paving the way for future growth.

2003
2nd Expansion
Additional 10,000 sq. ft. added on west end of property.

An increase in production led to the need for more warehouse space to keep up with customer demand.

2014
2nd Generation
William Towle named President

Patrick Towle unexpectedly passed away in the spring of 2014 and William Towle took over as president. Patrick's sons, Michael and Andrew Towle move from Fargo, ND to Watertown to join Watertown Box.

2023
3rd Expansion
7,500 sq. ft added to north end of building

A new press was installed and additional space was required to expand production and warehousing capacity.

2023
3rd Generation
Michael & Andrew Towle take over operations.

After the retirement of their uncle William Towle, Michael and Andrew Towle began to run the day to day operations of Watertown Box and continue the family legacy.

2024 - Present

We have a great box company in town (Watertown Box Corporation) and Mike made me this excellent box to mail my Federal in (he gave me a plant tour as well, Mike's not only the co-owner, he LOVES to talk about boxes), to my specifications. It has two cardboard pads under the painting a third with a window cut out where my painting will nestle ( my entry from 2 years ago as a placeholder in this photo (7th overall no ties) and then 2 more cardboard pads go over it and it all folds up tight. With the box that’s 7 layers of corrugated. Hard as a rock.
